Solution:
Go to Windows Defender (Windows Security) and add an exclusion (via the “+ Add an exclusion” button).
Just below, a drop-down menu appears with the options “File” or “Folder”.
Select “Folder” and add the game's installation directory. By default, the path is:
C:/Program Files (x86)/The4thComing
Windows Defender will no longer scan this folder.
IMPORTANT: Still in Windows Defender, go to “Protection history” and click on the action
that quarantined T4C. You must restore and allow it.
This step will restore your T4C.exe file if it was deleted after being falsely detected as malware.
Solution:
The save folder, located in %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Dialsoft
(also accessible via the “Show game data folder” button in the launcher,
just to the right of the settings button), is in read-only mode.
This prevents writing to the save files and blocks proper game functionality.
To fix this issue, uncheck the read-only option on the Dialsoft folder
(accessible via right-click → Properties, or using Alt + Enter with the folder selected).
Make sure to apply this recursively by selecting the option:
“Apply changes to this folder, subfolders, and files”.
Solution:
in the installation directory, restart your PC, and reinstall the game
- Download links (choose one):
- **Steam Version:** [[https://store.steampowered.com/app/523750/The_4th_Coming|Download T4C on Steam]] - **Web Version:** [[https://support.t4c.com/download/t4c_launcher_setup.exe|Download T4C]]
Only as a last resort:
(located at: ''%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Dialsoft'')
- Then delete the original “Dialsoft” folder
(located at: ''%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Dialsoft'') - **NOTE:** This will **delete your accounts, macros, CC, settings, map discoveries, etc.**
- Restart the game, and your problems should now be resolved.
